I consider to what is my cunning and brilliance turned: toward debate and entrapment of others or toward doing them good.
The gift of listening crosses boundaries: envision the powerful intentionally listening as a gift to the poor.
I used to be bigoted and bully with my privileges. This was in ignorance. But for the grace of God, I'd still be there.
Listening is a sign you can hang that says, Even the worst are welcome, and so can be misunderstood as consorting or condoning.
